Do You Know How Many Blades You Have? I Didn't

I love the vintage Schick Plus Platinum and Super Chromium blades (both DE and Injector) and was in the process of negotiating a deal for some when I wisely decided to count my inventory and discovered I am sitting on a stockpile of 1,989 DE and 355 Injector blades.

I thought I only had about 1300-1400 blades.

I did a poll awhile ago and that's about average around here. I think my choices were something like: less than 50, 100+, 200+, enough to open up shop. I thought i was being funny with the last choice but it was the most popular.

I think I have less than 200 but more than 100.

I am not worthy! I think I am in the 200+ range is all. I better order more. I don't want to hijack the thread but I got to wondering today about how much stuff I have and how long it would last me. Is there ever an end to adding more stuff than you need? I have at least 3-4 years worth of blades and probably 4-5 years of soaps and creams. Yet, I still have a "buy & try" list! What the heck is up with that?

Which would you say is better vintage Schick or Gillette Platinum?

I think the Schick Plus Platinum is the best blade hands down, with the Super Chromium a close second. I easily get 7 shaves per blade, so I'm sitting on a 45 year stockpile.

I've used Spoilers, Super Stainless (same as Spoilers, I think), Platinum Plus, Swedes, and Personna 74. The Schicks just work a lot better for me than any of those.

I still have not tried the Wilkinson Sword Chromium ("The Blade"), which is okay as I don't want to fall in love with a blade that's nearly impossible to obtain.

Sneaks up on you doesn't it? I just got into the habit of buying blade lots when they became available at good prices, sticking them in the closet, forgetting about them, and then buying some more.

I do know the count, +/- a pack or two. I keep an inventory list of everything related to shaving and I am too embarrassed to say how many blades I have. I can tell you that I like Feather blades and I have 1095 of them.
I broke down after I promised to not buy any more blades and ordered 200 Polsilver SI that have not arrived yet.

I realized that I have more than 1,200 and I have only been DE shaving for 2 months. I have enough blades for 10 years. The AD has to stop.

While putting together a PIF consisting of 30 different brands of blades I stopped counting at the 5k mark (1k SE blades alone)

I'm down to my last 5-pack. I usually have no more than 100. The most I have ever had is 200.
