DIY shaving projects, tricks and tips

So while I have a growing AD, I also like to think of myself as somewhat realistic. What I'm hoping to start is a discussion for ways or means of saving money. I love digging in and getting my hands dirty on projects.

Here's what I've come up with so far.
  • Old mugs from thrift stores
  • Relying on fellow members' generousity
  • free samples from manufacturers' web sites
  • Mugs or bowls from Ikea

I also started a group called MN Wet Shavers and I've tossed out the idea of having a gathering (some may call it an AD support group). We don't have many B&M's here so we could leverage each other's dens as ways to check out products or even make swaps.

So, do you have anything you've found as "ah-ha" ideas or moments? If so, please share!

I bought a bunch of old covered dishes at Goodwill for ~$5 for milling soap into. They look nice and fit the bill perfect. I also bought a bunch of ramikens from Kmart for putting samples into.

Here are some dishes I saw at Ikea. I think they'd make pretty decent soap dishes.

One more. I picked up an unused pill bottle from the local pharmacy and will keep one of my brushes in it for traveling.
