different razor angles for different blades?

Hi - I was wondering if anyone has ever noticed that different DE razor blades on the same razor can require the razor be held at different angles?

For example - I always shave using a Merkur HD razor. I've been trying to go through the last few razor blades I have from Dorco (ST-301) and Astra. When I switched to the Dorco blade this morning, I found that I had to hold the razor at a greater angle from my face to get the razor blade to shave.

Is that because the blade is held in the razor differently? Or is it just me? Or could the blade be just a micrometer or so bigger/smaller than usual?

Someone posted a few days ago that different brands of blades have different widths. That might account for angle variations.

Yep - found that too.

I like my Muhle open comb with Derby's more than with Feathers.
Whereas I think Feathers are better blades and perform better in the Fatboy or the Muhle R106.
