Did I get soap, not cream?

I ordered a few samples of scents from TOBS and RazoRock, and I got them in, and after the second RR scent, I'm thinking I got soaps instead of creams. They're quite hard, I can dent them with my finger, but I have to scoop them out of the container with a spoon, and after lathering with an almond size piece, there's a chunk left in the bowl...

Any sure way to tell?

The RazoRocks are definitely in the "croap" category of softer than a hard soap but firmer than a cream. Whichever way you slice it, they should be loaded like a soap by swirling your brush to pick up product, then moving to finish lathering in a bowl/scuttle or your face/palm.

TOBS makes both soaps and creams, but with that one it should be pretty clear.

Most RazorRock soaps are actually soft soaps or "croaps" (cream+soap) as they are commonly referred to on here. Soft and almost cream like but work and perform like a soap. You indeed received a soap, just a soft soap.

density is a minor issue, solved by adding more or less water.
the major issue is, of the samples, what do you like the best???

The Chianti Lavender is really nice, as is the Zi' Peppino.

mmm...

So in a tub, it should be a little easier to load, then lather? I'm tempted on the next one to just smoosh it into the bottom of my scuttle and let it stay there until it's gone.

Only load the brush from the tub - Then transfer the loaded brush to your face, bowl, scuttle to build the lather. Building lather on top of the soap will eat through way too much product.

RazorRock makes both croaps and hard soaps.

Why don't you post the names of what you got. It is hard to tell without them..........

I only know that they're RazoRock, and the scents. They came in little sample jars, lol.

Zi Peppino
Chianti Lavender
Moroccan Secret

My guess would be RR croaps, kind of like a harder cream, but not quite a hard soap. Enjoy them. They should do very well for you.
