Dickinson's WH with Aloe

So I finally did it. After several months of applying Dickinson's WH and Fruit of the Earth Aloe, I decided to combine the two and make a homemade aloe vera fortified WH. Here's how I did it.

I had a bottle of Dickinson's WH that was down to maybe a 1/4 of a bottle. Yesterday I purchased a fresh bottle of Dickinson's. I topped off the 1/4 bottle of Dickinson's until it was about half a bottle. Then I added roughly half a bottle of Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera, shook it up and let it sit over night. I OPS checked the substance after this morning's shave and it worked out very, very well. It seemed to combine the tightening effect of WH with the moisturizing effect of Aloe Vera.

A full bottle of Dickinson's WH costs about $2.60 and the Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera Gel costs about $3. This would be enough to produce two bottles of Aloefied Dickinson's WH. Much, Much cheaper than the Witch Hazel-Like Thayers and readily available from local sources. Good show! I think this one is a keeper.

Perhaps for my next trick I'll try combining equal parts of WH, Aloe Vera, and Osage Rub (or Murray and Lanman's Rose Cologne)

Funny you should bring this up. Today I strolled out of Wal-Mart with a bottle of Generic WH because I ran out of my Thayers. When I got it home I poured about an inch worth into the empty Thayers bottle and then added about 35 drops of some Lime EO I had laying around. Smells pretty good and it works. :001_smile
