Not the same thing, but here are some carbide blades and maybe they could make them compatible with DE shaving:

These links are not working if you click directly on them, but you can copy and paste them, or search for "double edge safety razor carbide"

Also, we would not enjoy it as much as we have a ritual to select and change the blades. If there were one blade that was 1000x better than any other, it would take some of the fun out of it. The blade would be changed every 3-5 years.

Good point.

One of them looked like a carpet cutting blade. You could pop one of those in those old hair shaper razors and be set. My question is would the blade be smooth enough to shave with? while it might be sharp and good at cutting paper and metal it might not be smooth enough to want to rub it against your face and be comfortable without some serious work.

Not only is carbide "not flexible" and unable to conform to bending required of a DE razor, carbide is not capable of taking as sharp an edge as carbon or stainless steel. Carbide is unacceptable in an application that requires flexibility or impact/shock. There are major metallurgical differences that effect the acceptable application of carbide as a cutting tool. It tends to excel when rigidity, not sharpness are required.

I have found a working blade and I do not change blade anymore. Why take a random blade risking to have a bad shave when you know you could get a superb shave from what you normally use? I have some blades at home I have not even cared to try because of this.

Until I found a working blade, I saw it as no fun to search. It was just many frustrating shaves.
