3-piece DE Razor materials : An alternative point of view .

Thank you all !

Some quick notes :

In case of Titanium threads ,it's better to prevent than cure .
Galling is not a "build up " phenomenon( but it can be ) .
It will occur spontaneously .
If it will occur more than once ,then yes ,the side-effects will be becoming more & more noticeable .
Galling on sliding Titanium ( especially regarding Grade 2 ) surfaces can / may occur
even with low torque ,low force and at low velocities ,
like those met when the handle is screwed or unscrewed by hand.

There are plenty of vegetable oils that will take years to go rancid.
Like walnut oil or castor oil .
But beyond that ,the oil in the threads ,most probably ,will be washed away during shaving .
Threads alone do not ensure that the water (& soap ) will not pass through them .
Thus ,each time after shaving ,some fresh drops of oil have to be used.
No time for the oil to go rancid.
Still,if you're not planning to use the Ti razor for the next two or three years ,
at this case then the Baby oil (paraffinum liquidum) is a better alternative to use,as it never goes rancid.

This was my first trial ever to make a nice and slim Titanium (Grade 2) handle ,
to be paired with a Karve D head.
A solid piece of Titanium rod was dry-machined at my small lathe ,
knurled and finally was ready to tap ...

Unfortunately ,my chip removal policy must have been far from ideal .
As a result , the chips galled with the threads made and the tap just snapped in my hand like a matchstick .

Yes, I totally forgot about Aluminium .
I should add it when I will have some free time .
