I have a DB scuttle from a few years back and while I really like it, it's a pain when the lather goes up and over the rim. Are her new ones any better at holding the lather in the bowl? So do you think it would be worth changing to the newer design? Ok, that last one is kind-of an obvious questions but I'm looking for others experience.

I had the same problem with mine and ultimatly was happier face lathering. I'm not saying her scuttles arnt top notch (they are). I had great results lathering in her bowls though. Also a brush scuttle is available.

I have a bowl and brush scuttle on it's way since I found face lathering during the week is easier but I use the scuttle for the weekend and cold weather shaving (well, relatively cold in SoCal). So I thought I'd get some info to make a decision.
