D.R. Harris Almond bomb

This morning I had a disaster with my first SE razor shave and a disappointing experience with the D.R. Harris Almond I just got from WCS store. The scent just all around isn't that pleasent. The lather is great just like my D.R. Harris Arlington, but something was lacking. The TOBS scent I smelled was so much more vibrant and long lasting while I found this dull and undesirable. However, with all that said I do love the look of the mahogany finish on the bowl. I'm not giving up on D.R. Harris but I wish I had listened to you guys and gone with the Cella almond instead; lesson learned.

D.R. Harris Almond shaving soap has the scent of eau de quinine. It is a mild, clean scent (to me), but it is not almond-like. The bit I had performed very well; must get some more!

Harris Almond smells a lot like a quinine-y old fashioned hand soap. If it's sweet almond you want, there are approximately 17.77 gazillion Italian soft soaps that you could get along with.

YMMV. Of all the D.R.Harris soaps the Almond is my favourite by far; maybe even my absolute #1 soap out there. Much more floral/powdery than the Italian almonds for sure. Beats Cella by a mile in my book though I do think Cella is a top-performer; too bad it is not for you (yet?!).

My Harris almond (stick) had no scent at all. I grated it into a mug and plan to use it all of Feb in an attempt to finish it off. I still like it better than Cella just because I prefer hard soaps.

The reason I like it very much is exactly because it almost has no scent. But the scent is enough there to cover up the soapy ingredients' smell. It's very neutral, and lathers great though. I like to use it when indecisive what scent I want and what AS I want to use, so any fragrance can be used after the DRH Almond.
