What's new

Cyril R. Salter

I saw this soap on sale pretty cheap at WCS and was wondering if anyone knows anything about this stuff because there is nothing on the internet about it other than some people talking about it being related to T&H. Is this true? And if it is is this triple milled or not? Is it glycerin or tallow?

Maybe I just haven't looked hard enough for information but I was thinking about trying it out at some point in the future. So any info would be useful

It's vegetable (palm) based.
I have both the Cyril Salter and the T&H. They look the same, smell the same, weigh the same, lather and perform the same (I wish I had known that before splashing out on a puck of T&H...)
There is a chance they are completely different soaps, but if it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, quacks like a duck...

I've also read that they are in fact the same soap as Truefitt & Hill, and some others that aren't as familiar. I plan to replace my dwindling T&H puck with the Cyril Salter and expect that I will be satisfied based on what I've read.

I keep Cyril Salter in my regular rotation. I find the soap works well for me, is quite reasonably priced, and I find the scent rather intoxicating. CS soap is definitely a keeper for me!

If this is true then I need to stock up on this stuff. The T&H cake I bought is amazing. I left it in a huge mug and everytime I go past the sink I take a sniff.
