cycling and shaving

Odd question to throw out but after getting into cycling more and more iv recently read a few articles of male cyclist shaving their legs. Anybody out there do it if so ever used a straight.

Yes, and NO! I cycle extensively, shave my legs, but do not use a straight. I use a Lady Gillette with whatever brush less crap I still have to use up from various soap/cream lots I have purchased in the past. Right now it's Cremo Cream, soon it shall be Wilkinson Sword brushless. How else to rid the world of that stuff! With enough concentration and patience, I'm sure it is possible to execute flawlessly. I fear slicing my hamstring from the bone!

I used to do it in my younger years but that was long before using a straight razor, you have to do it if you want to enter competition or you just get sent away from the start.
I shave my wife's legs with a straight though and she likes it.

my uncle used to ride half marathons..never shaved his legs..so...but I doubt it was to enter competitions..he shaved his legs years ago thinking it made a noticeable difference but he never said it did..maybe its for aesthetic purposes :001_unsur

had a friend who done it many years ago he said he shaved to help healing wounds if he came off the bike.
OP I am sure a straight will work. I have heard of women using straights on their legs.

i cycle. latest is 2008 tomasso imola road bike. shimano rapidfire . smooth on 28's for those rough nyc roads.
I personally do not shave and dislike it. plus most of my girlfriends dislike it. that says it all.lol

there are ladies on this forum that use de's for shaving legs. shouldn't be hard at all. much easier than shaving the face I presume.

I ride a Specailized Roubaix Comp hairy legs and all. Healing wounds etc. etc. etc. As the pro's admit it's like a body builder shaving his body,, it shows off the muscles.
