Curses! Foiled again! So who got the new de luxe?

Rare varient of the new de luxe was on the Bay. I was a few bucks short but I hope it was someone from B&B who took this baby home!

Holy cow! That went way high (my snipe bid was surely rejected for being too low). Someone wanted that one very badly (I have a near identical one-though I suspect it MAY have been replated, but I paid around $60 IIRC). Got it sometime on November.

My cased New DeLuxe Big Fellow was far less mony than that!

This was a very rare variant, with a narrow end to the internal handle. A picture of this razor is shown in the Krumholz book on page 228. I was looking for a good New De Luxe (based upon Asylumguido's strong recommendation) and I noticed that this was an unusual specimen. I was just a few dollars short!

Not in my league - I'm strapped from Christmas RAD. Have my eye on a Gem Junior now on EBay but with my new year's luck other bids will out strip my feeble purse.

I was outbid on that one as well. I just wanted to try a New Deluxe, had no idea this one was especially rare. Somebody wanted it a whole lot more than I did!

I dont think this is any more rare, other then the silver plate. The inner barrel on all of my New Deluxe's have that extended barrel.

The picture in the book You mentioned on page 228 is a New Improved to the left, NEW De Luxe to the right.
Here are mine, note the barrels.. New Improved , NEW De Luxe , NEW Big Fellow De Luxe

So do the majority of new deluxe have the tapered inner piece? I've not seen that many disassembled so I can't comment. My only new deluxes are Norfolk/milady short handled razors. Thanks for the pics. I would still like to get my hands on a full sized New Deluxe razor though.

Including the Big Boy DeLuxe, it has the narrowed barrel as well.
