I was in Nordstrom today looking to try these but they didn't carry them. I was told the GIT is citrusy and that Aventus is very polarizing in terms of popularity. Any ideas where I can get a sample of these without paying an arm and a leg?

You can probably get them online from something like the Perfumed Court, but it is going to cost you. If you are trying them on the hand or paper (as opposed to getting a small sample of them to take home) then a Creed authorised dealer is probably your best bet - there are many places in the US. It's just a matter of going when they have a tester bottle open.

To be honest, I get very little citrus from GIT. This is more of a fresh green/fougere scent to me, whereas Aventus is a light smoky/woody scent with a bit of sweetness to it.

GIT is definitely a green frag IMO. I got my Aventus decant from darkmandecantz on YouTube of all places.

Samples at Beauty Encounter are $3.99. Is that an arm and a leg?

There are other decant sellers that may sell for less.

Beauty Encounter is a good source for Creed samples. They sell the sample viles from Creed which are generous sized samples (don't know the exact size off hand). I've bought samples from the Perfumed Court before and without double checking I would say that you would pay at least twice as much for a similar size sample vile from them. I blind bought GIT based on the reviews and descriptions and love it. I got a sample vile of Aventus (from BE I believe now that I think about it) and would've been okay buying an entire bottle of that as well because I love it too. I haven't gotten around to getting the bottle of Aventus though because it's a bit pricey.... even on the discount fragrance sites. GIT is green and clean and Aventus is smokey and fruity. Love em both for different reasons.

Amir,

PM me your info and I'll send you some samples.

GIT has a very green opening with a great drydown of ambergris and sandalwood. Aventus has a fruity pineapple opening that quickly turns into a smoky/woody drydown. The pineapple doesn't stick around long. Both are great for me.

Here's how I compare both of them

AVENTUS

Overall Scent - 5/5
Originality - 5/5
Versatility - 5/5
Projection - 5/5
Longevity - 4.5/5
Value/$ - 4/5
Overall Rating - 5/5

I was skeptical about the Creed batch variants at first. My first bottle of Aventus I agree is a perfect 5/5. The travel size I got last week on the other hand is just missing that magical touch. By that I mean it last maybe two hours and it is gone.
