Cream in tubs?

I'm starting to have a thing for cream in tubs, I'm thinking of trying some Taylor's, can anyone recommend some good quality, though reasonably priced, cream in tubs?

Thanks

What is reasonably priced for you??? DR Harris is wonderful. It will set you back about $25, but IMO it is very much worth evey penny.

I would HEARTILY recommend trying Queen Charlotte soap/cream from our very own mretzloff. I have only tried the Key Lime but it is both an amazing performer as well as unbelievable bargain at $7.50 for 4oz tub.

Not sure how fine we want to split hairs but the Cella soft soap in a tub is great as is the Proraso/Omega offering.

For around $25 US, I also quite like Trumper coconut - very subtle and you aren't going to smell like a pena colada. Solid performer.

In my view, reasonably priced is a relative term on its own. One has to consider value as well. That said, I think that TOBS creams are reasonably priced and a very good value. Beside all of that, they are excellent creams that have wonderful scents and build mounds of lather. I have several of them and enjoy them very much. The lavender and rose are tops as is Shave Shop and...Oh man.. I like them all.

Happy shaving,

Doug

+1 for ToBS. For me, there is no distinguishable difference in quality between DR Harris and ToBS. For more than $10 cheaper you can get more selection in scents as well. I have 5 creams from ToBS in my current rotation and only one cream of DR Harris. That wonderful scent is arlington. The only reason I even have that is because... well... I just love the sent and cant find a ToBS cream that matches it.

Just my $.02

I really like TOBS. I haven't tried any of the others mentioned yet. I have Lavender and Mr Taylor's and really like both.

TOBS is a great daily, go to cream.
Very reasonably priced.
I have some Queen Charlotte waiting for me, I haven't obviously tried it yet, but the reviews are very positive.

Remember, If you have an empty tub, you can squeeze a tube into it. That's what I do.

I'm a TOBS fan as well. Avocado, Rose, and recently Almond are in my rotation. I just got the Arlington from a fellow B&B member but have yet to try it. Smelling it though, I bet it's going to be my go to cream. TOBS Avocado is currently the go-to cream, especially in the summer.

I've tried AOS creams and they're pretty fantastic too.

You should also try a T&H sampler. You can get it on their website for very cheap and you can sample all of their scents.

+1 for Trumpers coconut

I support this recommendation. Some of the T&H creams provoke quite strong partisan feelings. This way you can choose for yourself!

Go to Pasteur's on 34th betwen Park and Madison and sniff the TOBS creams in person. At about $10/tub less than the DRH or GFT offerings, you can get three for the price of two, which may come in handy at the beginning as you try to buy them all. Try not to faint when you go there.

+1. Love this stuff. Don't forget they have a sample pack now. Only $12.50 for 5 scents. And I think the "grandopening" 10% off code is good for a couple more days.

Also, their big tubs are really nice. Great for MWF and other big soap pucks or for dumping tubed creams. They sell them empty, too.

I like the Cyril Salter creams at about $15. Cella and Proraso hard creams/soft soaps, if that is more than you want to pay.

Just bought Rose and Sandalwood. Used 10% off code and with shipping it came to $20! Can't wait to try them out. They will be my first of either scent.

Look forward to your thoughts - I find I have to make myself not use the Key Lime to give other product(s) a shot in the rotation. It's that good.

I've been that way with TOBS almond. I've forced myself to give my TABAC another shot over the last couple of days just to switch things up.

I have just today received 2 tubs of Sandalwood Shave Cream from Green Pond. The cream is made by D.R. Harris so it should be fantastic (it will be tested tomorrow morning) and if you like the Sandalwood scent, it is good value.
