Crabtree and Evelyn Brush

Hello,

What do you think of the Edwin Jagger $35 brush from Crabtree and Evelyn? Is it any good?

I have way to many questions?

I think all C&E brushes are made by E. Jagger. When they closed one of their stores close to me, I was able to pick up one of their Best Badger Brushes (came with a Mach 3 and stand) and a Pure Badger travel brush. I used both, and I must say I like them, no hair loss in either brush, but I have used them only 4-5 times each.

All I can tell you is that I have one and it has served me well. Many others here have been very satisfied as well if I may say so myself. Hope this helps. Have a great day!

Which brush are you considering? C&E sells at least 3 brushes at $35 ... so if you can post a link or specify a catalog number, it would help.

All of C&E's brushes are made by Edwin Jagger, and they're all good.

I have the Best Badger Brush (#130291) which served me well for 3 months or so, before I got my B&B Essential. Sadly, both of these brushes are no longer available, but there are plenty of others out there of equal or better quality.

I think the only one available now is the travel brush. I don't think I would use any travel brush for daily shaving.

The Crabtree and Evelyn Best Badger is awesome. I used it for every shave for three years and never saw the need to upgrade. If I could buy another I would.

It was my first brush and, although I now have a Rooney that is my favorite brush, I still choose the C&E over three other (more expensive) brushes that I own. At the price, it's a great value.

PS. This is not the travel size brush that is currently offered at their web site.

It is still possible to find a C&E BBB but very hard. I found 2 BBB about 1 month ago at a store closing for a great deal I gave one to my dad and I was too stupid to pick the other one up.

I own the C&E BBB in ivory (medium EJ I believe) and the C&E Pure badger with wooden handle.

Both are great brushs but the BBB is superior in every way. It is softer, feels denser, holds more water, lathers better, and feels like the knot is slighty larger. These are attributes that I feel make the BBB a superior brush.

I recommend calling around and putting the effort in to find a best badger. You probably won't find one but in my opinion it is worth calling around to at least 10 stores. They can ship it to you for $5 I believe.

Also if I had to do it again I would buy a Semogue or Omega Boar brush as my first brush (assuming this will be your first brush). I recent just started using a boar and it quickly is becoming one of my favorit brushes.

The $35 BBB at C&E is a wonderful brush. I think most of us owners would consider a higher price to be reasonable for this brush. If you come across one you should grab it up. From what I understand occasionally stores will have one left. Call around.

I had purchased 2 and found them scritchy and they shed. Nice ergonomic handle. Exchanged them and paid diffrence for the larger C&E SUper badger.

I have the Best Badger... My first and only badger hair brush. Huge upgrade from my boar hair brush.

I was recently thinking that since I've had it for a year I should probably upgrade, but to be honest with you, I feel like I'd just be spending more money for no reason. I am completely happy with it.

They are made by EJ and are equivalent to the Edwin Jager Best Badger Medium, which you can get direct from them if C&E is out of stock for roughly the same price. Buying from EJ gives you some different handle choices as well (including a nice horn color).

The EJ is my daily brush. It works well and I can't justify adding another.

I also own a C&E Large 25mm Super badger. This is a nice brush but if it was a choice between this super badger and the best badger I would go with the best badger hands down. I like the size better and my super is not that much softer.

I got the $35 BBB from C&E and have used it every day for over a year and find no need to even think about an upgrade. It's truly a wonderful brush!

I started wet shaving/using a brush 9 months ago. C&E BBB was my first brush. Since them I purchased a Shavemac D01, Semogue 1305, C&E pure badger, and a C&E Super Badger.

The Best badger holds its own against any of my other brushes period.

I went to the C&E store near me, and they had a few brushes, but they were not labeled in any way, and the girl working there knew nothing about them. How do I know which brush is which? I'd like to get the BBB if that's what they have.

I really wish I could find one of these C&E BBB brushes! I want a good brush for soaps and think this would work great. But it sounds like you owners aren't letting them go anytime soon :001_smile

Ivory colored handle and it will clearly be marked "Best Badger" in bold with "Handmade" directly underneath and "England" underneath that on the side of the handle.

You can probably find a pic of it in the brush review section.
