Could this be the tell all show all of Brush restoration?

I keep hearing fellow members say that they are restoring their brushes. This sounds most intriguing to me. Where do you find replacement Badger hair for this kind of under taking? Are all grades of the hair available? What is the process start to finish? What material works best? Does the micro attention given to a handmade brush yield a better brush than an assembly line offering? If your heads not smoking yet I would love to see examples of homemade brushes and restorations. This has probably been done to death but how about posting your proudest restoration or fabrication accomplishment and give details of the process and resources that went in to it. :a21:

There are loads of threads....search "restoration" and your eyes will pop at all the wonders.

Shaving with a restored brush of your own making is 1000% better than the bog standard off the shelf production numbers.

Thanks very helpful, I'm inspired and now intend to take on a build your own project. I’ll be sure and post more when I find time to start. Lots more research to come first. Have to go; I think my wife has noticed that I’m enjoying myself.
