Wow that is a killer old stone you got. Wish they got them out of the ground like that these days.
Picked this up and had to do quite a bit of lapping to get it flat. I've been wanting to get into more coticules while honing. Had a very oxidized/dirt type of coloring to it before I lapped it an it turned into this very yellow color with tiny sparkling specs in it.
I'll admit, I'm not much of a coticule guy. What are those specs? Any guesses of what vein? The two coti's I have, do not have anything like that.

I love stones that look extremely turbulent but feel smooth as glass.Found this one earlier digging around in the basement. It’s a looker. View attachment 1374624
This was awful... Hours.... There was a lot of turbulent junk on the back but once I got through that it's like black clouds in the rock on one side.
