Contemplating a Simpsons T2 in Super...

Fellas-

My only experience with Simpson has been with the two-band, which was nice... However, I found that I am not a fan of the 'bulb' style knots. Is the Tulip 2 Super (three-band) at all floppy? I'm worried there wouldn't be enough backbone...

Dimensions from WCS:

Total Height: 102mm
Bristle Loft: 54mm
Knot Dia: 22mm
Hair: Simpson Super Badger

I'm hoping to get that 'perfect' brush and I really like the handle and look of this guy... Just want to make sure its suitable for soaps/face lathering as well as creams. I need something to hold me over until the G3!

Thanks!

The search for that perfect brush is a journey my friend...

The regular super knots are a lot 'flatter' than their 2-band counterparts...and have less backbone as well...I like my knots to be 'contained' and prefer 2-bands myself. My apologies at not being able to provide a comparison/review on the tulip...it's the only series I don't have...the handle style doesn't do much for me...as with any of the simpsons in the higher grades, you really can't go wrong with any of their models...

I recently received a Tulip 1 in regular super hair. Only have shaved with it a couple of times, but I have no regrets over the purchase.

It is a very dense brush that is not floppy at all. I'm looking forward to seeing how it develops

Thanks for the responses... I just thought hard and did what I do best:

Buy now. Ask questions later.

I'm curious to see how the Super compares to the other labels' "super" grade as well the Simpson 2-band... Who knows, maybe this will confirm I need both around!

I threw in some Haslinger soap for good measure...

Curious to hear your thoughts. I had a T3 in Super and although it was indeed a luxurious brush I felt that it lacked the backbone that I prefer as strictly a soap user.

I suppose it's only marginally helpful to say how much I love my T2 two-band. It's my go-to soap brush, since it picks up so well but has a soft but scrubby face feel.

I'm a big fan of the tulip in super IMO, they are denser than the 2bands, and not floppy at all. Great soaps brushes

my experience so far...in my few uses I feel a bit of scritch/scrubbiness (not in a bad way) which I think is due to how dense the brush is.

WCS seems to have a pretty good selection of the "3-band" Supers, but most of the stock is the 2-band.

I've actually thought about getting a CH2 in Best as well... Isn't the Simpsons Best better (not pun intended) than most other labels' Best grade?
