Connected gillette knack head to sabi t1 handle pics inside

So I saw this picture of a BRW custom (r.i.p.) knack and thought "I could do that" the pic was in a custom TTO handle thread request...

Well I had an unused sabi t1 handle and chopped it and drilled it out, got out my knack and smashed the handle and connected it... Success

Pics are in black and white bc the handle was brass and the head chrome... This is a proof of concept so I didn't care about color...

Hrmm so how do u get rid of brass plating?

So here is the brw pic

Can you share the specifics? What size drill did you use? Did you use a drill press or a hand drill? I have a Slim Twist with a broken handle but the head is in great shape. I would like to do that to mine.

Posted in another thread but reposted here: warning: this will be permanent for both handle and head

Grind off the plastic handle near the top with a dremel and a drum sanding wheel stop when u hit metal.. after you grind off enough of the plastic it should twist right off... Now there's the spin knob that closes the head (screw that off) and a half screw nub in there. Screw back on together and check for function... To do that you have to put pressure on the bottom of the knob so it doesn't move up and down and unscrew, the doors should open... No close head by screwing all the way and the. Unscrew just enough so the doors open to clear a razor blade.. Set aside...

Next take you sabi handle and cut off top part of handle right where the rounded part at the spot where it get to 1/2 inch thick main part of handle... Grind flush so the cut is perpendicular... Now take a 1/4 inch but and drill out the middle.. I did it by hand.. now drill out a 1/16 inch deep with a 5/8 bit to bevel the inside edge of the hole ... This helps the handle sit flush with the knob...

Now test fit the handle... It should need a little enlargement to accept the head stem... I used a small dremel grinding bit... My hole wasn't deep enough for the head stem... Instead deepening the hole in the knob I shortened the head stem then test fit again with the handle. Make sure when you are test fitting that the head is open to the point where the doors are wide enough to fit a razor blade in... And that the handle sits flush against the spinning knob...

5min epoxied into place... Use a little epoxy and only apply enough to the very bottom of them stem not the whole stem because you don't want epoxy to bleed into mechanism... close the doors and let cure...

I feel a sting in my heart when I see the original BRW custom build. This was to be my fifth cooncatbob razor but time run out for him...
I still have the Knack, or G3000 as we call it in EU.

Good of you to continue the tradition! I think cooncatbob also used this method.
