Colonial and Feather Super Pro - very good match

I've got Colonial SE few days ago and got a couple of good shaves using Feather Pro blade. However I needed to do a more passes then usual to achieve BBS and shave lasted shorter then I wanted.

Today I decided to try it with Feather Super Pro and the shave was perfect, not only that, 10 hours after it's still smooth! With Pro it's very good, with Super Pro it is close to perfect.

One needs to be careful though, toward the end of the shave I became arrogant and immediately got a small nick out of nowhere, Super Pro need to be respected, even in the mild razor. The rest of the shave was nick and irritation free.

These folks did a great job on the design simplifying it as mush as possible, I am not a specialist but I think round pins and holes to hold the blade ( rather then rectangular as in the rest of the pack) is easier to manufacture, one of the contributing factors, IMHO, to the low cost of the entire razor ( the main one of course is making razors in China ). I wish though, pins were just a little bit higher, so it would be possible to unscrew razor partially and wash it without the blade moving off the pins.

Really looking forward toward aluminium ATT SE.

Thanks for the review. I have only tried the Feather Pro in mine so far. I am going to give it a few more shaves before moving on to another blade.

Shaved with the Pro Super this morning, and my face is smooth ten hours later. I prefer a razor with more feedback but with this kind of shave, at this price point it's impossible to complain. Except for handle.. Too slippery.

I have no problems with handle, actually like it. If you keep it free of soap, it's fine, at least according to my experience, When it's just wet there is no issues, I think it has some sort of sandblasted finish, if you still feel it's slippery, couple of black rubber rings will take care of it just slide them on the handle

jmudrick - interested in the Colonial, but I'm replying because I once named a black cat (now gone on to his eternal rest) General Vo Nguyen Giap.

It's funny cause I just posted a thread on how bad my shave was with this exact setup, just goes to show you. Pro was a lot better, and I'm not a newbie by any stretch. I shave with 3-4 drays growth most of the time, thought the super was going to be the bees knees, but I was sadly mistaken. Least it works for someone.

I think what frequently forgotten is that everyone hair ans skin is different and that's as important as blade/razor combo.
