Clubman Special Reserve... Is it possible to get a "bad bottle"?

Ive had Special Reserve for a week or so. Ive tried it 2-3 times. I know that "YMMV" is the mantra when it comes to aftershaves. But I don't smell the "leathery woodsy, mossy" scents at all. To me its smells flowery and reminds me of a bar soap of some sort. Almost like I washed my face with that brand of soap and didn't get it all off.

Is it possible that I have a bottle that is "off"? Honestly Im not likely to try another bottle. Maybe its just my chemistry. The bottle was sealed. And bought it from Atlanta Barber Supply in person.

Maybe its jut not my scent. Which is fine. At 5.00 ish a bottle I dont mind trying it and maybe sending it out as a PIF.

I guess another question may be, has anyone ever had a totally different perception of a scent than what you may read?

I am not a big fan of the special reserve scent either.

I will use it until it is gone but I doubt that I will get another bottle (unless I forget that I don't like it that much)

Regular Clubman followed by Clubman Musk are my 2 favorites out of the Pinaud line of aftershaves.

THE VEG has a place all to its own in the world of aftershaves......

Clubman regular is quickly becoming "my scent". I just love it. And standard issue Old Spice is quickly becoming my second choice.

Uh oh! Marco wanted to try this one, I hope he likes it! This sounds like another Veg scent ... Either you love it or you, well, Wildalaska put it pretty well.

I didn't like SR the first few times I tried it. However, it seemed like the scent changed over a few months after I opened it. Maybe it was me, but maybe SR just needs to "breathe"...

On another note, this is a fall/winter scent for me. It probably won't get back into the rotation until October.
