Clubman+aloe vera=nice

Today, on a whim, I mixed some Clubman with some 98% aloe vera gel that I have in the den. Nice combination. I added about a dime's worth of aloe vera into my palm, splashed about a 1/2 teaspoon of Clubman on top, rubbed my palms together, and rubbed on the face. Very nice combination. The aloe vera feels good on the face, and it reduces any alcohol sting. I did find that after it dried, my face was a little sticky from the aloe vera, so I splashed on a little more Clubman, and thinned it out. It ended up drying to a very nice, non-sticky finish. The side benefit, besides my face feeling great, is that the aloe vera, for want of a better word, "holds" the fragrance, so that great Clubman smell lasts about twice as long as usual.

I think I am on my way to starting to craft my own aftershaves using Pinaud Bay Rum and Clubman for the alcohol and fragrance, some aloe vera, witch hazel and perhaps some other skin goodies like glycerin, vitamin E oil, and Comfrey or Chamomile. This little wet shaving hobby of hours is going to end up turning me into some kind of mad scientist.

I've mixed Clubman with Cornhusker lotion and used it like an AS Balm.

I mix Clubman with almost anything LOL.

I know what you mean. For me, nothing says: "old time barbershop" quite like Clubman. Really brings back those memories.

I cut some down with a bit of witch hazel the other morning.

Took the intense initial scent down a bit, but was still very nice.

This works pretty well, though most days I first apply the witch hazel, let that dry, then apply the Clubman. But, every now and then I will mix them.

Do you notice that the witch hazle scent hangs around a little longer when you do this? The 5 or 6 times I have it seemed I was occasionally getting wiffs of what I thought was the witch hazel.
