Cigars I've tried and the one that I enjoyed the most.

For starters the brands i've tried... Romeo Y Julieta, Mike Ditka, Macanudo, Punch, Oliva, Rocky Patel, Ashton, ....these are just the few i can remember off the top of my head. i would go to my local cigar shop, browse around, select a few that look nice, smell nice, in my price range, try them out and make note of what i thought of them. using this method i've sampled countless cigars and its a shame i can only remember 7 off the top of my head, most likely because i found these cigars to be enjoyable. But there was one cigar that really became my go to cigar.....

Acid 1400cc from Drew Estate.

When i'm in the mood to sample a new cigar I always grab one of these as a back up. I've always found it smooth, tasteful, and just a good fit for me.

So what is your go to cigar?

Romeo Y Julieta any size, Cohiba is my second choice but I prefer them with a wider diameter. I love my Cubans!

Best ever was a Cuban Partagas number 4. I've never had a Cuban cigar I didn't like. There are several non-Cuban cigars that are available legally in the US that are very close but if I want a box, I go for the "gusto"

while we are on the subject of Cuban cigars...i assume they are still illegal in the US? i've lusted after a genuine Cuban cigar for a long time but i don't have the resources or know the right people to acquire one.

Normally I like a maduro cigar, the darker the better. However I also like Drew Estate Java and Latte. Pleasant cigars.

rub it in will ya

it's even illegal for an American citizen to smoke a Cuban cigar while abroad. of course that would be hard to enforce

*blink blink* but if they ask me if you were smoking any I'd say I didn't see anything from all the smoke, too thick to see what you guys were doing :p

i was in one of those "corner liquor stores" the other day and they had a decent selection of cigars including my favorite Acid 1400cc by Drew Estate. The price was $8.95 for one cigar. I'll admit I havent bought one in awhile but that seems preeeeetyyy expensive. Have cigar prices gone up? or did I just have more money back then and not pay attention to the price?

I seem to remember a price around $5-6. could be he was just really high.

I think the best answer for me would be "So many Cuban & Non-Cuban Cigars to count"! $imagesCABWPA28.jpg

If I remember correctly (having just left Illinois a few months ago), the friggin' morons duly elected state representatives, in their infinite wisdom, more than tripled the state tax on ALL tobacco products in 2012, because smoking is bad for you, and they know best.

great! just freakin great! I lived in TN all but November/December of 2012. I just moved back to IL. what a slap in the face!

So what is your go to cigar?

I've smoked cigars for many years. Mostly cuban, but in the rescent years also other premium brands like Padrón, Don Pepin Garcia, Tatuaje etc. I have come to love the consistency of the premium non-cuban cigars.

I don't really have a go-to cigar, I prefer variation, but if I should have one it would probably be any vitola in the the Padrón 1926-series.

Now, if you had asked what was my most memorable cigar, the answer would have been easy: The Cohiba Gran Reserva. I've only smoked one, but I still remeber the experience in details.
