Chubby and Duke Say Hello

The latest additions to my brush collection arrived today from Mark on the Isle of Man. A chubby 2 in Super and a Duke 2 in Best. Very efficient service since I only ordered them early yesterday afternoon. The Chubby is going to be put through its paces tomorrow morning with C&S Oxford & Cambridge soap. Should be a shave in heaven if all goes according to plan.

The Duke 2 in best is a great all round brush IMHO. Gets a lota love here. That chubby looks great aswell. I found the service from Simpsons to very good as well and their on line prices are hard to beat on most of their models (UK).

I have had a Duke 2 for a couple of years and just recently added a Chubby 1 to my rotation, and in my opinion it is a great tandem of brushes. Duke for creams, chubby for soaps. Great 1-2 punch.

David, you need to post a picture of all your brushes together. Am very curious to see that. Great looking brushes by the way, enjoy them

Till, I really don't have that many now. After 2 years or so, I have experimented, worked out what I like and dislike, and sold as I've added.

Wonderful brushes for sure, David! You know how much I love Simpsons and the Dukes and Chubbies in particular. Enjoy, my friend!

Some of my favorite brushes. I once owned a Chubby 2 best early on in my wetshaving days and sold it thinking it was too big. I now own a chubby 2 2-band super and it is one of my favorites. My Duke 3 best is right up there as well. I've finally come to realize that I think Simpson's truly does make the best shaving brushes out there.

I totally agree, Joe!

I had a horrible first experience with an old Simfix D3 and have shied away from Dukes ever since -- but I really can't shake them. As it's turned out, my new 2-band Super Polo 8 is the best brush I've ever used; better than the two Colonels I just received, better even than an SR3824 . . . and I love Savile Row brushes. So I guess I agree with the above, too.
