Chicken Feed

You probably already know oud oil doesn't come cheap. But are you ready for this?

At $2,333/ml, it's an absolute bargain. I'm buying 4 of them. :w00t:

so am I to understand that 9 people have actually bought and used this stuff--counting up the comments

is this site legit? I suppose Bill Gates has to get his scents somewhere, Or more likely the Sultan of wherever does, but he would not be buying on line I would not think. Doesn't someone just fly in from wherever to his palace?

I don't like the ad copy. Stories like this worry me. I've collected coins, and usually if there is a long story they are trying push with a sale, the coin(s) will be overpriced.

Yes, a bunch of people have already bought this stuff, but that was years ago when he first had it. And when he first had it, likely it was selling for between $400-750/bottle. Quite a bit less than what he's selling it for now. The price he's selling it for now is a measure of how little there is that's left -- once it's gone, it's gone forever -- and (according to the owner) how much it can sell for on the open market.

To answer your 2nd question, yes. The site is quite legit. Whatever you might think of his business practices, Ensar (the owner) actually sells very high-quality oils. His site is replete with ad & marketing gibberish, no question. Despite that, his wares are generally first-rate.

Uh...wow. Almost makes $550 for 2.7 grams seem a bargain. I'd sure like to try it though it is well, well, well beyond what I can rationally budget.

FWIW, I have it on good authority that when this oil was originally put up for sale, it was $390/bottle. Then he discounted it to $349. This was back in '06. Fast-forward 4 years, add 1800% markup for good measure, and voila! You have this thread!

And to think - I sold my bottle of Oud Royale last year for only $400 instead of $6999. Oh, the humanity!!!!!11111

But I guess not all is lost, I still have my Borneo 3000 and a couple of bottles of Royal Kinam, so in just a few more years I'll be able to trade them for a bottle of Kyara LTD or maybe one of them Caribbean islands... :tongue_sm

Hmmmmm. It seems I need to pull my money out of the blue chip market and get it into the oud chip market. :tongue_sm That is a serious return on investment!

+1. True. This guy is a marketing genius. By putting something on there this expensive, everything else would look like a screaming bargain. I'll have to remember this.
