Care and feeding of the Rolls handle?

Another rolls question.

What do you do to keep the spring loaded pin in the handle from rusting. I can see this being a problem, and I don't want to dismantle it every time I shave.

Also, there is a spring inside the handle that there is no access to, and it seems like it as well as the pin will get wet when rinsing the razor.

Neither of my razors have spring loaded handles. The handle screw tightens the blade.

On both of my #2 Imperials (one from the 30s one from the 40s) the handle is two pieces. The lower part turns to tighten the head, but what it is doing is driving a spring loaded pin which pushes against the bottom back of the blade.

Methinks a little silicon grease or Vaseline in there should sort this problem out.

I'll try on mine this evening.

Something like a teflon oil, such as tri-flow, will not only lubricate it, but will also give it a small coating of teflon, which should help prevent rust.
