So, after purchasing the Pure Vanilla Extract and feeling my chest tighten at the cost, I got to thinking about what it would take to make my own.
As a married 25 year old, with kids and a stay-at-home wife, I feel the strong need to be a DIY'er. I highly suggest making your own, it was super easy and a good ole' time. Below are the best directions (without the added mumbo jumbo) I found after rigorous searching. I use 7 beans per cup of cheap vodka, and vanilla beans are super cheap online. I now have extract coming out of my ears. I am predicting some awesome Christmas presents next year, as the extract takes several months to make.
