Can I add glycerin to cologne to make it more of an aftershave?

I love Musgo real, but not crazy about scent.

I have some Musgo colognes and was wondering if glycerin would be a good addition to give that moisturizing feel after?

I know more is involved, just wondering.

Sometimes I make a concoction of witch hazel, vodka, glycerin, some cologne, seems to work well.

Thoughts?

Sounds like you already make what you are asking about in your "concoction". Fine-tune it to a base of cologne and see what happens. Experimentation is the half the fun 'round here.

Sorry, I am tripping over my words. I would love the performance of Musgo real aftershave splash without the scent, so that I can wear my colognes, and not have them clash.

That is why I asked if I could add glycerin for a similar feel that the Musgo real gives me, so that I smell like a fragrance I like more.

So splash on some witch hazel.

Hello,

Maybe it is mental but it just does not work the same as the Musgo for me.

I noticed since using alcohol based aftershaves that my skin looks better post shave.

Musgo seems to go on great, spread nice, burn just enough, and leaves my skin feeling moisturized and protected afterwards.

Generally, too much essential oil content in a cologne to make even a diluted product into a good aftershave (not to mention the cost).
But more importantly, the performance you get from the AS would be missing from a cologne with glycerine added. There is much more to formulating a quality AS than simply adding glycerine to a "stock formula".

Seriously... mix your own unscented aftershave from glycerine and witch hazel, then apply the cologne when done.
