C.O. Bigelow the exact same formula as Proraso?

Great, thanks for the answer. I'll have to hit up the local store and see if they can give me the discount there instead of online.

Didn't get a chance today to see if it was good for in-store purchase, but I did just find an active promo code (F102459) that knocks the price to $22.99 shipped. That makes it only $1.39 more than paying sales tax around me.

I think I will skip the gas to the store and place this order :001_smile

Gotta love the contradictory wording on the product page. They first claim (correctly) that it's an Italian recipe that they borrowed. Then, mere millimeters below, they say:
Developed by Bigelow Chemists
Sure, guys.

I was laughing at that same line when I first saw it. Some poor copywriter somewhere was pumping out print and couldn't think of a third truth to write about the product.

Just went to C.O. Bigelow's site and found they list Proraso products by name there:

Now I'm curious if C.O. Bigelow actually owns the Proraso line of products, and/or the USA distribution of them (might explain why they pulled out of Target stores). I'll have to do some digging and see if anything pans out.

No, they're not the same. They have the same ingredient list but they behave oh so differently. Of course, most people disagree. Get one of each and compare.

Yeah but if you look at the front of the box or tube it says " made by Proraso for CO Bigelow"...

...both equally suck

Heresy! :w00t:

Actually, Nat, I've heard strong arguments both ways from B&B members way more knowledgeable than me. I have only tried C.O. Bigelow; I love it, and I keep multiple tubes of the stuff. However, rickboone1 is right...one of these days I will get around to laying my hands on some Proraso and see for myself. Popular as they both are, I don't think either "sucks" - an unfortunate term - or each would be out of business.

Tried the Bigelow creme for the first time last night. I made a batch of very nice and thick lather easily, I liked the scent, it shaved very nicely and left my face feeling good.
What's not to like?
