What's new

Butler Bulldogs!!!

I'm very nervous watching this game. Regardless of the outcome, I'm so proud of my alma mater.

My hat goes off to Duke. They played well. It's too bad though. It would have done wonders for Butler.

Definitely, "Chapeau, Butler!" (My son is at Duke, so I have to route for Duke, and I do think Duke was the better team, by an edge, tonight.)

I agree with the commentators that Butler did not lose this one, Duke won it.

Great game. Nice to have it won in regular game time. Without folks having to commit intentional fouls, etc. Without some player on the losing side commiting some kind of horrible error at the last second or some bad call at the last second.

Some amazingly good calls in tough situations, and I think the bad calls went about evenly both ways.

After what Duke did to the Lacrosse players; it might be prudent to think twice before accepting an athletic scholarship from that institution.

I am listening to the book on tape version of the book on the Duke lacrosse case, "It's Not About the Truth," and I can see why you would say that. It was really terrible what happened to those lacrosse players and the school should have stuck by its own students a lot better than it did, insteas of jumping to the conclusions that it did.

Their coach certainly went the whole nine yards for his players at the cost of his own position at Duke, which he had held for 16 years with a 100% graduation rate for his lacrosse players. Everything i have read indicates that that coach was a major positive force in those kids lives.

And I am 100% certain that nothing like what happened with the lacrosse team would ever have happened under Coach K. And I do not thinkn anything like what happened with the lacrosse team will ever happen at Duke again.

And I think that Duke manages a pretty extraodinary combination of athletics and academics. I would willingly turn the most important thing (person) in my life over to Duke University and feel absolultely confident about doing it. In fact, I have. (Not that he is there on an athletic scholarship!)
