Building boxes?

Nothing fancy but I just finished up this box for a giant black Norton. This stone looks ink black until you hold it up towards a light and the edges start to glow. A flashlight will penetrate almost 1/2” in places.

This is a build up and restoration for the box of a Fox 44 Thuringain. Always wanted a Fox but never ran across one until this came along. Although in disrepair, all I see is a diamond in the rough. The bottom tray was long gone, the top was missing one end and the glue was failing on all the other pieces, but the label still works. One good thing, no glued stone or hinge to deal with. Used the dimensions of the top to make a mirror image for the bottom. Picked wood to try to duplicate the look of the existing. Cut and glued up to try to keep the look as original as possible. Hard to copy 100 year old oxidized wood. I did take one liberty, installed a divider between the stone and rubber. Also for additional protection I cut a piece of lexan to cover the label. Tough decision, spray or not to spray for protection Decided to spray the bottom tray with finish, really happy with the results. Ready for the next 100 years
