What's new

Buffalo Silvertip

It's been a while since I posted

I'm still making a few brushes here in Scotland, and thought that I would share this one with you.

I have used Buffalo horn as the base on a piece of Red Deer antler. The horn showed nothing outstanding in the rough, but revealed a beautiful bit of figure when polished.

The knot is a 28mm Silvertip, set at 60mm, with a beaded NS collar.

Beautiful brush! You do amazing work. I only like a few of the antler handled brushes I have seen and this is at the top of the list.

I love the detail in the bottom (mosaic?), what is it? Very , very nice! I'm not normally drawn to stag horn, but that is a brush I would own!

Glad you like it Harry :biggrin1:

Yes, it is a mosaic pin in the base. The pin extends through the horn and into the antler, so gives more strength to the join as well as a bit of bling.

I have posted some pics of similar brushes before. A quick search of my previous post should find them.
