I've had some good use out of my Dirty Bird, but got in the habit of holding it not by the handle, but with a thumb in the spout. This was easier for me to hold when loaded with water. After more than 2 years of service, the spout broke and I can't blame anyone - just pass the info one to others.
Bummer. Appears to still be functional, albeit a bit "customized". If you still have the broken piece(s), perhaps they can be crazy glued back on.
Just a thought.
The part that broke off practically crumbled into a lot of little pieces - I'd never be able to glue it back. I'll probably smooth the rough edges out with my dremel...and capitalize on this event to legitimately acquire a new scuttle!
Just a suggestion here, but I believe that if you got some J-B Stick Weld (the kind you slice off and work both materials together), you could rebuild that broken area. It dries a silvery gray, which might not look too awful. It can stick to pretty much anything and is waterproof. Can also be Dremeled or sanded. Worth a try. If it's not acceptable and you decide to replace, my offer to adopt it stands. http://jbweld.net/products/jbstik.php
