What's new

Bristol Carter

Got this shaving cream in a local dollar store yesterday and can't find anything about it posted here or the other shave sites. I do not have any expectations of goodness - or non-crappyness - but was wondering if anyone has tried it. Not clear from the tube instructions whether it works with a brush or is non-foaming.

I did a quick Google search - the only links I found were for wholesale buy-by-the-case. No retail sales. The one description I found made it seem like it's a non-lathering product.

Thanks. I'll try it and report back with the results of my experiment. I'll give it a go with a brush for starters...

You might want to do a quick test w/o a brush; just put some in your hands with a little water and apply to your face, or just rub your hands together. If it is a non-lathering cream, you'll know for sure, and you won't gunk up your brush in the process.

Thanks. Good idea.

Did the experiment this morning. Definitely a non-foaming product. Not suitable for brush application (I tried just to see and failed). Not a bad scent, reasonably slick and rinses easily. Not terribly unlike the Alba/Trader Joes non-foaming cream I tried, with a different scent. May work okay as a pre-shave lube under soap/cream lather. These non-foaming creams are not my thing, but for those that like them, this product seemed of a quality that exceeded its $1 price tag.
