Boar Bristle Hair Brushes

Has anyone seen a source for quality Natural Bristle Hair Brushes, typically set in a wood handle. They used to be common, and they seem to work much better for me than the plastic bristles. I'm looking for a couple of new ones.

Did you look on eBay for these?

I bought one in CVS that is in a plastic handle it works very well for me.

Kent makes a nice pure bristle brush with wood handles.

Mason- Pearson makes a truly great brush, although the handle is not wood. I have mine going on 20 years.

Good luck!

Big fan of the natural bristle brushes.

If you check out kentbrushes on flea-bay, they sell seconds at pretty reasonable prices and shipping to North America is pretty reasonable.

If you're on a budget, check the web for local barber supply shops - many of them sell nice boar bristle brushes for under $10 that work every bit as long as the more expensive (and generally prettier) ones.

drugstore.com has something cheaper than the ones from kent. no experience w/ them or the brushes but i noticed them and they seem good enough if i wanted something similar. i prefer ace combs though as they don't spread the hair oils as much.

Sally's has them by the truck load. Different styles and stiffness. Chinese, but the one's I've bought from them have been well made set in wooden handles.

I echo the recommendation for a Kent at their ebay store. They are a little more expensive but these brushes are high quality and blow the Sally brushes out of the water.

I have been useing Sallys for the past 10 years but when I get some extra cash I will have to buy me a Kent and try it out.
