Blade skip with the nice soaps

Like a lot of the advice above, it is a practice makes perfect kind of issue. It takes a little bit of time to find that lathering sweet spot with triple milled vs. glycerin soaps, but once you find it, you are good to go. I find that with my Harris soaps, I just need a little bit of water on top of the soap to get it "charged". Once I'm ready to shave, I drain the excess off, wet my brush and then shake it out. A couple of swirls on top gets it loaded. At that point the face lathering fun begins. The first pass may go on a bit tacky, but is easily remedied by adding a little water to my brush and then working it in. At that point, I've got a nice slick lather and I am ready to get to the shaving. Don't give up. There are plenty of great triple milled soaps out there that are worth the effort. Plus, they last a long damn time, even with regular use.
