Blackhawks selling championship ice vials

This may be old news to some but it seems that the Chicago Blackhawks are selling the championship ice to the public. Are any of you going to buy any? I'm not going to lie, I'm most interested if ED will be purchasing any. You may ask, why post this in the speakeasy? I'm hoping to see a pic of ED adding some of the stanley cup ice water to a glass of Scotch.

Your thoughts are touching, Christopher! A few points: they haven't released the $$$ yet, but if it's anything like what I think it will be, I'll have to consult the "black market organ price" list I have in order to purchase; I love scotch too much to defile it with United Center ice; if I were to get this melted ice, I would only use it to christen my first born son :biggrin1:

Fair enough, I could send you a finger or a pinkie toe to help with the cost LOL. Maybe if you get the ice you could put some in a PBR before conceiving your first born son.:biggrin1: ( don't want to ruin the scotch )

Pretty sure I'm going to need at least a spleen :tongue_sm

Just curious what the Wirtz surcharge tax on the ice will be. That Hossa behemoth of a contract isn't going to pay itself.

Then there's the subject of authenticity. How do we know this isn't water from the bathroom of the United Center? :001_unsur

If it was Wrigley Field bathroom water, those crazy Cubs fans would beat down doors to buy a vial

Just so I understand, all a Cubs fan needs is a mediocre team, constant flow of alcohol, ability to sing in the seventh inning stretch and copious amounts of bathroom water vials?

Well, there's always a situation where teams can make an extra buck. I remember when Soldier Field was being remodeled, they tore up the astro turf to make way for real grass and then sold small strips of the turf. Also when old Comiskey Park was being torn down the Sox sold bricks and the old seats.

A friend of mine bought a pair of the old seats and he got a notorized certificate of authenticity with the seats. But selling water or ice from the Hawks championship is bordering on nuts. But die hard fans will probably buy it, just to have a piece of Hawks history.

BigFoot

I wanna be sedated!

I would, but I figure it will go somewhere in the 4 figure range. I will just wear my hat. :crying:
