Johnston & Murphy is a solid choice. I would also recommend a pair of Kenneth Cole Oxfords, they have a pair called the Chief Council. Very formal shoe.

You could get a pair of cap toe balmoral boots if you want to mix it up a bit.
The Florsheims of today at $115 are not a good buy and not in same league as quality men's shoes. The old Florsheim company went out of business and sold the name to a low level company. The old Florsheims are the best of any men's shoes. Because they havn't been in production for twenty years you buy them on Ebay. Look for "Florsheim Imperials" and green stitching in the interior of the shoe.
I have a high instep so I can't wear a balmoral, and i've never felt out of place with a derby/blucher.
Any cap toe or plain toe would work out great for any situation.
