What do you gents think is the best Sandalwood cream out there?

TOBS in my opinion. Strong, lovely scent and very good performing.

+1 on TOBS Sandalwood cream. The scent is wonderful; it has great lather and excellent lubrication. Really delightful shave with it.

OOps its a glycerine soap. But great pure EO scent; I love it.

I personally have only tried the super-expensive GFT and love it. I just hate paying such a huge price, but gram for gram TOBS is up there in cost as well.

Why do you guys love the TOBS ?

See, I am not a huge fan of the TOBS sandalwood as a sandalwood scent.

Don't get me wrong, it is a fantastic performing cream (you'll notice it's my favourite cream), and the smell is quite nice, but it doesn't smell much like sandalwood to me.

I think it smells like Cusson's Imperial Leather soap.

Still if your main gripe about something is that it doesn't smell like you'd expect, but you can admit it smells good and performs very well, can it really be that bad?

I still rate this cream.

AOS Sandalwood has a really great scent and performs great. My favorite sandalwood right now. GFT is second on my list. Lathers up great but the scent is very subtle. Haven't tried TOBS yet but I look forward to it.

if the scent of ToBS Cream is the same as the soap version, it is very light. very very light to be honest. i use a Mysore sandalwood soap to wash with before hand to make sure i get some scent left on my face - at least past lunch time.

I really like Edwin Jagger / Mühle Sandalwood cream. They are the same product, they smell fantastic and have been great performers for me.

How would you describe each scent, Kevan?

TOBS is an old-world, powdery, soapy sandal scent. The sandal note is definitely there, but with a heavy dose of powder. A very refined take on the idea.

Trumper goes the smoky route, similar to C&E's version but more pleasant IMO. Smoky sandalwood on a floral background.

I hate hate hate the Taylor sandalwood cream. Yuckiest scent matched by some of the poorest performance found in any Taylor cream.

The AOS scent has been called too dry by some, but it's very pure and backed by some of the best performance you'll find. Vulfix makes a very interesting version that smells like warm cookies.

AoS is definitely a great scent. I'm also a fan of Green Pond's (D.R. Harris, re-branded) cream.

Recently tried Castle Forbes, and absolutely did not like the scent. The cream performed beautifully, but there was no comparison to their superb lavender scent.

I have tried Trumpers, TOBS, CF, and AOS and have to say that I like AOS the best when it comes to scent and performance. I like Trumpers as well, but enjoy the scent a little less.
The CF is actually "Cedarwood and Sandalwood" and to me does not smell anything like the others.
