Best Lavender Shaving Cream

I shop a lot at whole foods and I *love* the santizing wipes they have (atleast at the Cupertino location). I found out today that the wipes are lavender scented. This was a big revelation for me, since I had not used lavender scented products before. The brand is EO sanitizing wipes, incase anyone is interested. So....which lavender scented shaving cream should I try first? CF? TOBS?

AOS lavender cream is pretty darn amazing imo. I'm not sure about the smell relative to other lavander products, but the lubricity and cushion of the cream itself is great. One of my favs.

You could go right back to WF and try KMF Lavender. It's a good value, even if you end up preferring another lavender.

Every manufacturer has there own version of "lavender." Especially since there are many lavender scents. Tobs makes a nice lavender, like a massage oil lavender but T&H lavender is a more plant lavender which is very nice but I haven't tried it in a while so I hope they haven't changed anything.

I also heard Castle Forbes makes a sweet lavender scent which sound enticing every time I "have to" order more soaps or creams.

Quite honestly, if you're looking for a true lavender scent, I find the TOBS quite disappointing. Great cream in every other way, but I find the scent more reminiscent of licorice than lavender (but I do love licorice anyway!).

Has anyone tried adding lavender essential oil to a shave cream? I have some eo on hand, but have hesitated as I've heard that lavender eo in particular can be somewhat drying/irritating.

Here is my Lavender shaving creams ranking:

1. Castle Forbes Lavender Essential Oil;
2. Truefitt & Hill Ultimate Comfort;
3. Art of Shaving Lavender.

Funny, I was just in Whole Foods the other day and noticed how nice those EO brand hand wipes smell. EO actually does make shaving products, which include a lavender scent. I'm not sure how good they are, but they might be worth a look. (As an interesting side note, they've also just come out with a tea tree and lemon splash; maybe lavender will follow.)

The other recommendations in this thread have covered the bases pretty well. My top recommendations for a lavender cream include Castle Forbes (about the best there is, imo) and Truefitt & Hill Ultimate Comfort. I would also recommend AOS and D.R. Harris, but for two caveats: the AOS lavender scent was wonderful, then took a turn for the worse several years ago, which I can only presume resulted from a change in the oil they used. It was present in a number of pots I tried, and I haven't tried any since. Whether it's improved or not, I can't say. If it has returned to what it was about five years ago, then it's a wonderful option. I keep meaning to try it again; no doubt I will soon.

Similarly, D.R Harris made an excellent lavender cream, but there is divided opinion on whether or not it is currently as good as it once was, or whether it has undergone a reformulation. I haven't tried it since the reformulation was rumored to have taken place, so I can't offer any input on it. Like AOS, if it remains as good as it once was, it's a top option for a lavender cream.

For me, Castle Forbes is the best lavender available. It ain't cheap but I have found it to be a great value as such a small amount is necessary to create mounds of lather.
