Best Deal in Wetshaving...

What's that one thing that noone has an excuse not to have in their kit because it's so cheap? Is it Aqua Velva aftershave? Is it Derby blades? Omega boar brushes? Let's hear it!

How about a classic Gillette - $5 & up gets you in the game, $15 gets a nice one usually. It will last longer than a bottle of AV (though that is a good starter) or a 100 brick of Derbies ..

Arko shaving CREAM! Extra moist type for sure, also the Commando is popular.

Crystals/IP's

Omega Brushes

Nivea Sensitive Aftershave Balm

Corn Huskers Lotion

Dickinson's Witch Hazel

Gillette Knack

Palmolive shave stick. 59 pence at the local ASDA (Wal-Mart in the UK)

+1 on this, just had a fantastic shave with one of these, a single blade bic sensitive (20 for less than £2 also in Asda) and a cheap Vulfix brush. My flight-safe kit has been decided!

Arko Shave Sticks.

Arko is awesome. I maintain that it would be much more popular if it was more expensive. A good boar brush which will set you back under 30 bucks and most likely in the 10-20 dollar range is a must if you use soaps.

I'd say a good, second-hand straight razor. Nothing flashy or near-NOS, mind you, but a decent shaver. ONE of these will last you a lifetime, and then you can pass it on to your son or grandson or whomever for HIS lifetime.

Any of you guys tried using an alum block after your shave to close your pores? It works great for me, and the HERO brand that I found at the local Indian grocery store set me back a whopping $0.99. Even using it every day, it's going to last for months... maybe even years!
