What's new

Bday coming up, help me build a cart!

My bday is coming up and i think thats the perfect excuse to purchase a few items...soaps and creams only.
Here is what i currently have: cella, arko stick, arko moist cream, palmolive creamt ( red tube ), proraso white pre/post, and prep cream (ugh hate it and its almost gone). just wondering based on the gear ive tried and knowing i very between straight and de, where should i go from here? Also i hate menthol or other cooling agents. Looking to spend under 100bucks. Thanks im excited to hear some ideas.

Tabac, DR Harris, Klar Kabinett (before everyone else buys it up), Speick, La Toja, the list goes on and on...

If $100 was burning a hole in my birthday pocket I'd probably try MdC. That would leave $35 or $40 left and with that I would do some vintage shopping here or on the bay.

I'd be happy if I only had Proraso Red (in the tube) and Mitchell's Wool Fat. If you want to expand into some aftershaves, Floid Blue and Pinaud Clubman provide a great finish to your shave!

Your stock seems to be on the soft side, so I'd recommend some harder or triple milled soaps. Since I only like tallow, I'll limit the list to that: Palmolive stick, Tabac, DR Harris.

Mitchell's and Tabac were my first thoughts but Strop Shoppe makes excellent tallow and non-tallow based soap. I currently use Lavander (non tallow) and Black Tie (tallow) and I think they are both top performers.

This is easy. Tabac in the milk glass jar, Mitchell's Wool Fat in the ceramic dish, D.R. Harris (pick a scent that sounds appealing to you) in the wood bowl, and I Coloniali Mango Oil soap in the terra cotta bowl. Two words: Connaught Shaving. Through those in your cart (or basket as they call it on that site) and see what it comes to with shipping. You already have some great inexpensive soaps and creams, but these are the premium items that you are missing in your den. Save all the dishes and get refills down the road. Now you're set..... you can thank me later :001_tongu .

You took the words right out of my mouth. I think you owe it to youself to try a premium hard soap like those mentioned. Tabac is my personal favorite, but the scent can be polarizing for some. DRH soaps are fantastic too, and the scents aren't overpowering. Like Ben says, get the soap with the bowl/jar...it's your birthday after all, so treat yourself. If you happen to get the Tabac and don't like it, just PM me and I'd be happy to take it off your hands!

Happy Birthday.

Ok here is what i ended up ordering guys. Astra blades, la toja cream, gillette sensitive cream, proraso blue tube, proraso red tub, feather blades, razorock classic, mwf puck, tobs grapefruit, razorock lime, and gillette guard razor for goatee touchups. Came in at under $90.

Thanks! Cant stand seeing so many products others are enjoying so just went all out to try and catch up a bit. Always a bday next year for other brands and products :)
