Bay Rums

So I just used a sample of Mike's Bay Rum today and wow. At first I was hesitant because I wasn't sure what to expect from just the scent but once I lathered it on my face the different hints all came out of the soap. It was....amazing. I didn't think something so simple could be so complex. My question is, I see a ton of different Bay Rum type soaps out there. Are they all just as complex as Mike's? Are some more intense? More lax?

I know some people say the Bay Rum irritates but if anything it made my skin come alive.

Next up will be the Barbershop and Coconut.

I'm a big Mike's Natural fan, but have not yet tried his Bay Rum. I do use Mystic Water's Bay Rum and find it to have a wonderful scent and perform as well as Mike's.

You're in for a treat with Barbershop, one of my favorite scents.

I have one more shave on my Mike's Bay Rum sample. I actually prefer the stronger clovey bay rum scent of Ogallala. As I currently have pucks of Ogallala BR and their BR + Sandalwood and a tub of SRD West Indies Bay I probably won't order a tin of Mikes BR for now. Barbershop and Coconut are two I want to try after my samples of Rose & Cedarwood and Orange, Cedarwood & Black Pepper are gone.

~~~huge fan here of Ogallala Bay Rum/Sandalwood shave soap, then to finish I like to use Pinaud Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum A/S. that said, I can only use this A/S 4 X's in a row with this soap, otherwise a low grade burn will come to fruition. it isn't the soap and only happens when I use Pinaud's Bay Rum but I'm oh so happy to make the run up with it
Jon PIF'd me a small bottle of Shulton's Old Spice...he claimed it burned him. I could feel a mild burn shortly after putting it on but then the burning stops almost as fast as it starts, and I have no problem using it day after day if I want
hmmmm, given the quality of Mike's soaps it might make more sense to stick to that. Don't get me wrong, I like scents. But scent ranks way behind soap performance and other qualities on what I look for in a soap. However,Mike's scents are complex and I like that. Very unique. I just dislike lanolin but the performance, moisturizing properties... it's a winner.
If it is possible to beat Mike's in scent or overall shave quality, I have yet to find how. He truly makes WONDERFUL products at a very reasonable price.
