Mike's Pumpkin Spice: Oldie but Goodie!

I was talking about better artwork on shaving soaps tins tubes containers. I was speaking as a COLLECTOR of shaving soap containers. Anyway some connoisseur here talked about Mike's Natural Soaps and his very very plain looking containers and that he rather have a plain container and a great shaving soap. So I found my 9-10 year old Mike's Pumpkin Spice and had an amazing shave an hour ago. Wonderful scent while shaving and a nice lather still after all these years. They shave was an 8.5 out of 10 but an hour later it went up to 9.5 as it feels great. I used a Voskhod blade 2nd time, Merkur 34G razor, Simpson Duke 3 badger. and in my top ten aftershaves: Holy Black aftershave tonic. Mike's gives an amazing shave but his containers could still look better! Here is a picture of his amazing soap's beat up cover.

Glad you had a great shave! Mike's is my favorite soap, it works better for my skin than others and doesn't break the bank. I'm not a collector like you so container art work does nothing for me. For me its all about the performance and for me Mike's hits it out of the park.

Mike's Natural Soaps make amazing scents! I own Pine & Cedarwood, Orange Cedarwood Black Pepper, Lime, Coconut, Bergamot Orange Ylang-Yland , Hungarian Lavender and my very old but recently resurrected Pumpkin Spice. Every Scent a winner!

Mikes soap Is excellent and so is his customer service. When you consider how many artisans have fallen by the wayside in recent years Mike’s has stood the test of time. I have containers of his from when he lived and shipped from NY, then he moved to MI, now he is in OR. It takes a lot of dedication to keep customers happy while moving production.

I was bad mouthing Mike's ugly containers. I was put in my place! lol Mike makes an excellent product, I own 8 soaps and he has a devoted cult following. I am a disciple.

I recently restocked Mike's Natural Soaps Vetiver and picked up the Rose, Patchouli, and Cedarwood scent. Mike still uses the same recipe as the shave soaps I bought from him 10 yrs ago. It's still one of my favorite soap bases. I agree, it truly does stand the test of time.

I've contacted him to see if he can produce any of his unscented soap without lanolin. I'd be surprised if he was able to go one-off like that considering the size of his operation, but had to ask. I've wanted to try his soap for the longest time but cannot tolerate that ingredient.

I haven't tried Mike's yet so I went to the site. Pumpkin Spice not listed and many soaps out of stock. Is this typical?

The Pumpkin Spice that I own from Mike's is about ten years old. It is not made anymore (or might be seasonal.) He is a one man shop and you have to check his site monthly. I buy direct from him and I believe The Razor Company carries his product but they too run out quickly.
