Since I purchased an EJ DE89L, I kept loading fresh blades into it. I like the razor a ton. It looks great and gives smooth shaves. Yesterday I loaded another Astra SP in it, prepping for today's shave. I then remembered that I wanted to switch to my HD for comparison sake.
I finally found it in a GFT sample bag in my Dopp (Put it in a spot where I wouldn't forget it!). I loaded the SP and waited for today's shave. After working out and mowing the lawn, I prepped with a hot shower. The shave with a Cade lather was smooth and closer than with the EJ. Nice! The HD gets the tough spots at the angles of my jaw cleaner, too.
Both great razors, but I have to give the edge to the HD in terms of closeness of shave. I know this is the consensus, and it'll be awhile before I switch back.
