Arko shave stick cause acne?

I just finished shaving with an Arko shave stick. I rinse my face, look up, and to my horror I have the worst breakout I have ever had in my life.:001_huh: I could have jut had really clogged pores today so I will wait a few days and try again... but has anyone else had this same reaction?

PS the shave was fantastic, smoothest since I started this little wet shaving venture!

I've never heard of this with the Arko stick, it's a pretty neutral product. Sounds more like you used a blade that past its prime, or shaved with a poor angle. Mentally review the shave and see if you can identify what the cause could be. I suspect others will chime in here.

Try rubbing some on the inside of your wrist and let it sit there for 24 hours. If you're really allergic to it, you'll see a reaction there.

Most likely, you didn't make proper lather (not uncommon the first time you use a new product) and/or messed up pressure and angle.

Ill give it another go, but the strange thing was it was a new blade, and I had NO irritation and NO redness but white heads aplently.

My acne years are long gone so I can not really comment on your question but Arko is high in my skin-friendly book. I have used it for months in a row and never had any issue with it.

My question would be what did you use before Arko. It is probably the result of something you used a day before, however, it is possible. Arko is tallow. so if you are prone to breakouts or have oily skin you could have a problem from time to time. I know my Hubbie has to use an astringent every time he shaves because of the tallow soaps/creams he uses. Just a thought.

I do have fairly oily skin, and I believe this is the first tallow soap I have used. Ill give it another go on Monday and post my findings

I love the Arko as much as anyone and a darned sight more than most, but I'm not going to tell you that it can't possibly be the source of your troubles.

Different faces react to different substances. If you suspect Arko is causing you issues, switch off and see if the problems subside. If so, there's no sense in flogging yourself with a product that doesn't agree with you, no matter what the guys on the internet say.

I think it could be the tallow thats doing it, but I work in a cabinet factory sanding so my pores might have already been overloaded with dirt and grime, and I believe in a fair test! :p
They have acne, or they get breakouts/pimples? Very different things, very different causes, vey different treatments!
They get pimples and breakouts regularly and have 2 very different life styles. And further looking into my grandmother says everyone on her side of the family had EXTREMELY oily skin

That's good - it means you can probably clear it up just by working on your cleansing routine, maybe use better products on your face and clean up your diet a bit.

If you had acne, you'd be looking at major lifestyle changes and serious medication to get it under control.

It must have been clogged pores from work, just shaved with it (the smell is still horrible :p) and it and had an amazing shave!

Make sure it wasn't something to do with food you had eaten the day before.
I eat the same foods every week, thats never something I have to worry about :p

I never heard about this kind of any issue with Arko Shave sticks since im Arko sticks shaver last 10 years so..
Regards.

I found after eating two or more Arko sticks, then yes, I had acne breakouts.

Just moderate your intake and your complexion should be fine.
