Are there any fake / counterfeit blades around ?

It always seems that somebody somewhere is always finding fake items: ipods, iphones, handbags, jeans, and it always seems like a million other things.

I was just going to order some Feather blades and saw that the seller was in Thailand. That made me think: I wonder if there are fake DE blades around?

Anybody ever heard of it happening?

There were some fake Super Iridiums spotted a while ago, after they went out of production. So yes.

The Thai Feather vender on E-bay I presume you mean, seems to be very cheap but they accept returns so if you're not happy you can return them. I think you can't get fairer than that. Don't forget that Thailand is nearer to Japan than Europe or the U.S. so they may pay much less and can ship for less! I can get 100 Astra SP for €6.50 from Turkey and they are twice the price in the U.K. and Ireland.
They are the same thing but I'd rather pay less just like anyone else!

Speaking of Astra blades -

A while back I ran low on all the various sample blades I had been using and thought to order more of something. I came across 100 Astra blades. looked around on here, found nothing bad about them, and placed the order.

100 blades seems like a lot to me so I more or less relaxed for the long-haul, so to speak. But I soon found that Astra blades are the worse ones I have ever tried - essentially useless in my case. Any actual effect that they do have is bad: lots of skin scraping and not very much whisker removal.

I like Feathers and remembered getting the bests shaves from them - which is how I came to find the Thailand vendor. But I was then curious about the possibility of fakes. Although the market for DE blades seems too small (in my experience) to attract counterfeiters I guess. Although I suppose they could be selling 'seconds' which were supposed to be destroyed but were instead diverted for sale.

I take you like the Astras?
