Are 1920 Gillette DE razors any good

My travel razor these days is a New Improved that dates from the 20s. It shaves close and never seems to nick or cut. I've got a New much like the one you bought and while I haven't used it often (I'm mostly a straight razor man) I did like the shave it gave.

Anybody like the 1940 tech? How does that compare to a 1930 new?

The Techs are all a mild, comfortable shave. I like the feel while holding the 40's fat handle Techs and the 40's ball tips have their own charm. But, then again I like the NEWs with a comparable fat handle and the more aggressive shave.

I have 2 1930 NEWS and a 1940 TECH... The gold plate isn't right....gold plate missing or worn away.....I was thinking about replating gold to restore them....I don't intend to sell and I am not a collector...I use them.....What does everyone think?.....
