My wife would probably kill me if she knew I posted this, but, I had to share. A few weeks ago she had a pimple on her face that popped up. She just couldn't get rid of it. I gave her some witch hazel, still no go. I then gave her my Aqua Velva Blue, knocked it out in a couple of days! Maybe it was just time for it to go away, but I like to think it was the properties of the AV. There is something about an Aqua Velva woman!

It used to be used for alot more than knocking out zits back in the day.... before the alcohol it contained was "denatured"

Menthol does a good job taking care of skin inflamations/irritations. Whenever I do yard work, the top of my feet always get real red and irritated, a splash of heavier-mentholated aftershave always gets rid of the irritation. I normally use Barbasol Pacific rush since it has a little more menthol than AV and its cheaper. I save the AV for my face.

Yes, before Aqua Velva was sold as denatured (a process that either makes the resulting alcohol poisonous, or so bitter as to be undrinkable) it was used as a mouth wash, and also frequently drank by soldiers in need of a fix.
Alcohol that is denatured, is freed from being taxed as an alcohol, as the process makes it undrinkable.
It's also good for cuts/burns, it takes the "sting" out (although admittedly nail polish remover works best). AV is just overall awesome. Now if they would put it back in the glass bottles...
