What's new

Anyone else tired of pumpkin and cinnamon yet?

It's fall again and I'm already tired of being overwhelmed with pumpkin and/or cinnamon everywhere I go. Every store I go into smells the same and everything I like is now stuffed with pumpkin. Like coffee? Try this new pumpkin coffee. Like beer? Try this season pumpkin brew with pumpkin spice and a special pumpkin label that you can eat that also tastes like pumpkin. Like fresh air? Try it infused and overstuffed with pumpkin spice with a double concentrated one-shot kill headshot of cinnamon infused with apples. I love this weather (except it's not as comfortable to ride my motorcycle) but I hate that I can't get away from this for the next few months.

Sorry, love the smell, It reminds me of the holidays and fun times as a youth. I look foward to it every year. There is nothing wrong with not liking it though.

tired of Publix smelling like cinnamon...yes
tired of Blue Moon Harvest Pumpkin Ale.....HECK NO, that stuff is delicious!

i love when the spiced pumpkin of autumn yields to the pine, orange and clove of winter. yeah, i like scented candles. want to make somethin of it?!

Certainly not yet. I have not had my first pumpkin pie of the season. Cinnamon, Allspice, clove, nutmeg, and pumpkin are heavenly together. Now do I get tired of the cheap potpourri in the aisles of stores? Yeah, pretty quickly.

Cheers, Todd

We live in an age where everything has been commercialized, overdeveloped and overhyped. I can remember the days when there was only one kind of Oreo and Chips Ahoy! on the shelves, and you didn't have to wade through all the variations to find the 'regular' kind.

Halloween used to be simpler; you just made your own costume or bought a cheap skeleton suit at the 5-and-10, then watched Peanuts Halloween on TV before going out to Trick or Treat. Pretty simple back then.

Lastly, there used to be an unwritten rule that no Christmas ads or decorations went up until after Thanksgiving. This year I saw some in September.

SWMBO insists on ruining a perfectly good cup of coffee by adding several tablespoons of flavored creamer. One of her favorites is Pumpkin Spice, which for some reason in our area can't be found this year. I was about an hour away this morning for an appointment, and she reminded me to check the stores over there for some Pumpkin creamer.

Didn't find any . . . but still had to come home and face the music!
